Ukranian Budget Lost 3.5 Billion Hryvnyas Due to Gambling Ban

According to the expert, this amount has not been received by the budget, including by the Pension Fund. In his opinion, such financial injections could be by no means redundant to the public purse.
Yuri Kozhema also said that many representatives of gambling establishments, which offer flash games of chance, had left the country’s market and started to develop their businesses beyond the borders of Ukraine. As a result, the country was also left by qualified professionals in the respective sector.
It should be remembered that the anti-gambling law was adopted by Verkhovna Rada on May 15, 2009. 340 deputies votes affirmatively. Currently, a number of experts, including Yuri Kozhema, believe that the new law will open an opportunity for the budget to gain income, and will stop the development of illegal business.
