Max Ashkar, a poker player known under the nickname of ‘mexx86’, offered a viral code to other players, which allowed him to link to other computers and view other players’ cards. The fraudster’s maneuvers were revealed when one of his victims wrote a message on a famous poker forum saying that such success in gambling might be a result of the use of unfair methods.

This development remained unnoticed by antiviral products.Ashkar’s rivals received the software with their own consent—he told them that it was meant for training. After a player started the programme, the virus began to send files.

It should be mentioned that many online poker professionals knew Max Ashkar personally. Many of them were surprised by this fact—they did not imagine that a player could be up to such fraudulent actions. Nevertheless, the fraudulent actions of the poker player meant to increase the probability of winning in games of chance made him a multimillionaire in no time.
